Malaysia Border Agency Seizes RM322.74 Million
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) has successfully seized assets totaling RM322.74 million through October this year. According to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, this figure represents a fourfold increase compared to the previous year.
Speaking at the agency’s second anniversary, the Minister described AKPS as a ‘fiscal fortress’ for the nation, noting its role in preventing revenue leakage. The agency was established two years ago to modernize border control and eliminate siloed working practices through an integrated command chain.
Recent developments for the agency include the implementation of a new service scheme on July 1 and the training of 408 pioneer border officers across Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia. AKPS is also strengthening controls at strategic entry points, including the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link.
