Malaysia Cabinet to receive academic feedback on 13th Malaysia Plan

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that academic views, recommendations, and constructive criticisms regarding the implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) will be compiled into a report for submission to the Cabinet.

Speaking at the 13th Malaysia Plan Public Discourse Conference organized by the Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) at Universiti Malaya, Fahmi emphasized that academic input is vital for all ministries, not just the Ministry of Economy. He noted that as the 13MP enters its second year of implementation, periodic evaluations are necessary to ensure planned projects achieve their intended goals.

Fahmi also stressed the importance of strict governance in managing the public funds allocated for the plan. He called for measures to prevent the abuse of power, kleptocracy, and corruption to ensure that resources effectively benefit the public.
