Malaysia economy shows positive growth amid global uncertainty

Malaysia's economy continues to show positive growth despite global geopolitical uncertainty and trade tensions. Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah noted that the nation remains resilient through long-term planning and economic diversification.

Investment momentum remains strong, particularly in high-value sectors such as manufacturing and semiconductors. In 2025, net foreign direct investment (FDI) rose by 41.6%, with approved investments reaching RM426.7 billion. This trend continued into the first half of 2026, with approved investments totaling RM218.5 billion, representing an 11.7% increase year-on-year.
