Malaysia extends MH370 search agreement with Ocean Infinity

Malaysia has extended its agreement with Ocean Infinity, a seabed exploration company based in the UK and US, to continue the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. The Malaysian Cabinet approved the extension through June 30, 2027, under a “no find, no fee” arrangement, meaning the company will only be paid if the aircraft's location is identified.

Investigations into the disappearance of the Boeing 777, which vanished on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, continue to reveal complex details. Flight data and radar analysis suggest the aircraft deviated from its planned route shortly after passing the IGARI waypoint. Simulations indicate that the initial left turn after IGARI was likely performed via manual control rather than through the autopilot system.

While fragments such as a flaperon have been recovered from Réunion Island, the exact location of the main wreckage remains unknown. Previous investigations suggested the aircraft likely headed south into the Indian Ocean. The search efforts involve international cooperation from countries including Malaysia, Australia, and China.
