Malaysia FAM President expresses optimism for B-17 squad

Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan, President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), has expressed confidence in the national under-17 (B-17) men's squad ahead of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Selayang from November 8 to 20.

Ab Ghani emphasized that high-quality performance must be the players' priority, noting that consistent play is the key to achieving positive results. He expressed hope that the B-17 team could replicate the success of the B-19 squad, which previously qualified for the final rounds, to demonstrate that Malaysian football is progressing beyond the ASEAN level.

Malaysia has been drawn into Group E alongside India, Palestine, Singapore, and Guam. All matches are set to be held at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium. The FAM aims to ensure comprehensive football development by providing serious attention to all age groups to elevate the nation's standing in international competitions.
