Malaysia integrates MyDigital ID with SarawakPass for seamless service access

Malaysia is advancing its digital identity ecosystem through the integration of the national MyDigital ID system with the Sarawak state-level digital ID, SarawakPass. This integration allows users to access both state and federal services seamlessly by scanning QR codes, facilitating cross-government service access.

MyDigital ID, developed by MIMOS Berhad under the Ministry of Digital, serves as a Single Sign-On (SSO) system. It enables citizens to access various public and private platforms, such as MyJPJ, MyPTPTN, and PADU, without needing multiple passwords. The system uses advanced encryption to match biometric data and MyKad information with official databases.

Registration for MyDigital ID can now be completed entirely online using the new generation MyKad via an official mobile application. The SarawakPass integration follows a memorandum of understanding signed between the Sarawak government and the National Cyber Security Agency. As of recent reports, MyDigital ID has reached approximately 14.1 million users across 203 integrations.
