Malaysia intensifies monitoring of Ahmadiyah Qadiani teachings
The Selangor state government is intensifying efforts to monitor the spread of Ahmadiyah Qadiani teachings through the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), working in coordination with local mosques and prayer halls. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that these initiatives include educating the public on the distinctions between Ahmadiyah Qadiani and the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah doctrine.
Recent reports indicated that authorities raided premises in Gombak suspected of being used by foreign nationals, believed to be from Pakistan, as centers for spreading these teachings without authorization from the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS).
At the federal level, the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) is reviewing developments regarding the detention of 288 individuals linked to Ahmadiyah Qadiani teachings in Sabah. Minister Dr. Zulkifli Hasan noted that the digital evolution presents new challenges, as deviant teachings have shifted from secret physical meetings to the use of social media and closed messaging applications.
