Malaysia introduces awards for Hajj pilgrim management companies

Malaysia has introduced the Anugerah Pengelola Jemaah Haji (PJH), an annual award designed to foster healthy competition among Hajj pilgrim management companies. Dr Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), stated that the initiative by Lembaga Tabung Haji aims to enhance service quality and welfare for Malaysian pilgrims, with the goal of making the nation's management a global benchmark.

The awards will feature three categories: bronze, silver, and gold. Companies are selected through a comprehensive evaluation process that considers financial standing, performance records, experience, and service capabilities. This assessment is conducted in coordination with the Department of Waqf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR) and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).

During the Hajj 1448H season license handover ceremony, 33 companies, including TH Travel & Services Sdn Bhd, received their licenses. Dr Zulkifli also emphasized the necessity for both managers and pilgrims to strictly adhere to Saudi Arabian regulations, specifically regarding valid visa permits, to ensure all Hajj activities are conducted legally and orderly.
