Malaysia junior hockey team defeats Kazakhstan 8-0

The Malaysian men's junior hockey team, known as the Young Tigers, opened their 2026 Asia Junior Cup campaign with an 8-0 victory over Kazakhstan in Moqi, China.

Rahul Fazrien Nazrien scored twice, including the opening goal in the first minute. Other scorers included Safwan Salihe, Faiz Afnan Faizal, Muhammad Aizat Akhera, Gagandeep Singh, Shafiq Ammar Fahmi, and G. Dheeressh.

Despite the dominant performance, head coach Nor Saiful Zaini Nasiruddin noted that there are still weaknesses that need to be addressed. Malaysia's upcoming Group B fixtures include matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and China.
