Malaysia launches Phase 3 of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah cash aid for 2026

The Malaysian government’s Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash‑assistance scheme is entering Phase 3 for the 2026 financial year. Around 5.3 million households that meet the eligibility criteria will receive payments ranging from RM100 to RM600, depending on household income, number of children and marital status.

Eligibility is based on household income thresholds (RM2,500 or below, and RM2,501‑RM5,000) and specific categories such as married couples, single parents, seniors and single adults. Payments will be credited to active bank accounts or, for those without an account, can be collected at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) counters. The official payment schedule is expected to begin in August 2026, with exact dates to be announced by the Ministry of Finance. Recipients can check their eligibility status and payment details at any time through the mySTR online portal.
