Malaysia maintains Muassasah Hajj cost at RM33,300
The Muassasah Hajj cost for the 1448H/2027M season will remain at RM33,300 per person for the fourth consecutive year. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hasan announced that the Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and the government will continue to provide targeted financial assistance to ensure the pilgrimage remains sustainable and equitable.
Under the current structure, B40 group pilgrims will pay RM15,000, with total assistance (HAFIS) amounting to RM18,300, which includes a RM1,000 government grant. M40 group pilgrims will pay RM23,500, receiving RM9,800 in HAFIS assistance. The T20 group is required to pay the full cost of RM33,300. TH has allocated RM234 million to fund the targeted HAFIS assistance.
Despite inflationary pressures and geopolitical conflicts in West Asia, officials stated that efficient governance has allowed costs to be controlled without compromising service quality. Preparations for the upcoming season have begun, with Hajj offer letters expected to be issued in stages this month.
