Malaysia Ministry of Communications begins preparations for 70th Independence Day

The Malaysian Ministry of Communications has initiated early preparations for the nation's 70th Independence Day celebrations scheduled for 2027. Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated that planning will begin within his ministry before being coordinated across all government agencies through the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN).

The goal is to ensure a comprehensive approach that involves all levels of government and all segments of society. This follows the conclusion of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, which reportedly attracted over 100,000 physical visitors and garnered millions of online views. The 2026 celebrations also successfully raised RM51.5 million in sponsorships.
