Malaysia monitors West Asia crisis impact on economy and jobs

The Malaysian government is conducting 24-hour monitoring of the West Asia crisis to mitigate potential impacts on the national economy. Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shahar Abdullah stated that the government is specifically tracking oil supply stability through the end of the year, inflation trends, and shifts in the labor market, including job losses and new employment opportunities.

To manage the situation, the government has developed a Global Supply Crisis Monitoring Dashboard in collaboration with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM). This tool provides detailed information to help agencies respond to urgent matters and serves as a communication channel to keep the public informed about the evolving global situation.
