Malaysia National Day: Leaders emphasize independence as a responsibility

As Malaysia celebrates its National Day, various figures are emphasizing that independence is a responsibility rather than a mere symbolic gesture. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hasan stated that true independence requires honoring the sacrifices of past leaders and ensuring that development and welfare reach all levels of society.

Dr. Zulkifli highlighted the MADANI government's efforts to address the cost of living and maintain public welfare, including the expansion of the BUDI MADANI program. He noted that the Prime Minister's message serves as a reminder of the struggle led by figures such as Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj.

Similarly, actor and director Farid Kamil remarked that independence is a pledge to preserve national sovereignty. He called for unity among Malaysia's diverse population, urging the younger generation to leave the country in a better state than they received it.
