Malaysia resolves fertilizer supply delays for MADA rice farmers
The Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is taking immediate action to resolve delays in the supply of NPK compound fertilizer to approximately 40,000 rice farmers within the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) region.
Minister Mohamad Sabu announced that the services of Taveekun Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. have been terminated due to these delays. To rectify the situation, Malaysian NPK Fertilizer Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the National Farmers Organization (NAFAS), has been tasked with completing the remaining deliveries.
NAFAS has prepared 14,000 metric tons of fertilizer for phased distribution involving 27 Area Farmers' Organizations (PPK). Deliveries are scheduled to begin immediately, with an initial distribution of 600 metric tons on the first day. The ministry and NAFAS have committed to close monitoring of the logistics process to ensure the supplies reach the affected farmers within a targeted 10-day window.
