Malaysia rubber market expected to trade in narrow range

The Malaysian rubber market is projected to trade within a narrow range next week due to geopolitical uncertainties and ongoing tariff negotiations. The Malaysian Rubber Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) noted that while regional futures saw gains following positive economic indicators from the US and China, continued tensions in West Asia are weighing on market sentiment.

Industry expert Denis Low expects a weak trend in the coming week as supply is anticipated to exceed demand, leading to neutral pricing. Low noted that most current purchases are for restocking rather than speculation, which has helped maintain stability. Despite seasonal monsoon rains in some producing areas, current conditions are considered manageable.

Regarding recent price movements, the Malaysian Rubber Board reported that Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR) 20 rose by 17 sen to RM9.09 per kilogram, while bulk latex decreased by 4 sen to RM6.915 per kilogram.
