Malaysia Sepaktakraw Federation targets gold at 2026 Asian Games
The Malaysia Sepaktakraw Federation (PSM) is targeting at least one gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan, who serves as both the PSM President and the Malaysian Chef de Mission (CDM) for the games, stated that while a single gold is his personal target, securing two would be a significant bonus for the nation.
Sumali noted that competition is expected to be more intense due to the rapid improvement of regional rivals such as Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos. He emphasized the importance of providing young players with international exposure to build the maturity required to compete with senior players and top-tier teams like Thailand. The official medal targets for the entire Malaysian contingent are expected to be finalized soon.
