Firefighters from the Seri Kembangan Fire and Rescue Department in Selangor responded to a call at 7:37 a.m. on Thursday and rescued a 19‑year‑old female student from the first floor of a hostel. The team arrived at 7:45 a.m., secured the student, and transferred her to hospital for treatment of anxiety and hallucination‑related conditions. The operation concluded at 8:06 a.m.

Later that morning, fire crews from Kota Marudu in Sabah were dispatched to a burning house in Kampung Torintidon after a 16‑year‑old disabled teen became trapped. Despite the older brother’s attempt to save his sibling, the fire destroyed the structure and the teen was found dead inside. The brother suffered severe burns. Difficult road conditions and poor phone coverage delayed the response; firefighters finally arrived at 4:48 a.m. and finished operations by 6:53 a.m. The incident highlights challenges in emergency access to remote villages.
