Malaysian Immigration Department busts vehicle dismantling syndicate in Klang
The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) dismantled a syndicate involved in dismantling and selling vehicle parts during a raid in Jalan Kapar, Klang, on August 12. The operation resulted in the arrest of 20 foreign nationals, including 17 Pakistani men and three Indonesians.
Preliminary investigations suggest the syndicate, allegedly masterminded by Pakistani nationals, was involved in the disappearance of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) belonging to a local funeral management company. The group reportedly dismantled scrap vehicles to sell their components.
Additionally, the raid uncovered a secondary illegal operation involving Indonesian nationals who provided transit housing for undocumented immigrants awaiting repatriation. This service reportedly charged between RM5,000 and RM10,000 per person. All detainees have been moved to an immigration depot for further investigation under various immigration and anti-trafficking laws.
