Malaysian police detain multiple suspects in fraud and food theft cases

Police in Perak state arrested 18 Chinese men in Ipoh after two raids linked to an online fraud operation. Authorities seized laptops, mobile phones and other equipment worth about RM78,000 and charged the suspects under the Penal Code and the Immigration Act.

In Selangor, police detained three individuals, including a couple, after CCTV footage showed them attempting to steal food deliveries from a residential lobby in Kajang. The couple, who have prior drug‑related convictions, tested positive for methamphetamine. One of the male suspects was later released on police bail while investigations continue under the Penal Code and the Dangerous Drugs Act.
