Malaysian police officer injured during anti-drug operation
A police corporal sustained a broken right arm after a vehicle belonging to the General Operations Force (PGA) was rammed by a suspect in Rantau Panjang. The incident occurred during an anti-drug operation conducted by the Ninth Battalion PGA Strike Force.
The operation began after receiving intelligence regarding a drug syndicate using courier services to distribute narcotics across Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. Officers discovered six plastic packages containing 70 grams of cannabis flower, 10 cannabis oils, and three kilograms of compressed cannabis at a courier premise.
During a subsequent patrol, officers encountered a Toyota Camry linked to the syndicate. The 35-year-old driver attempted to evade the checkpoint by speeding for approximately two kilometers before colliding with the PGA vehicle. The suspect was apprehended after the car became disabled. A search of the vehicle revealed six bottles of a dark liquid suspected to contain codeine.
