Malaysian ringgit projected to trade in narrow range against US dollar

The Malaysian ringgit is expected to trade within a narrow range against the US dollar, projected between RM4.06 and RM4.08, as investors maintain a cautious stance ahead of key central bank decisions.

Market attention is focused on the upcoming US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) meeting. Analysts suggest both central banks may implement 25-basis-point interest rate hikes. Additionally, investors are monitoring US economic projections regarding GDP growth, inflation, and unemployment rates.

External factors, including rising crude oil prices, are also influencing market sentiment. Brent crude oil has seen prices reach levels between US$104 and US$107 per barrel, driven by geopolitical tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, as well as potential supply disruptions in West Asia.
