Malaysian singers discuss career longevity and competition challenges

Singer Shahir Zawawi has expressed his intention to slow down his entertainment career by the age of 40. The former Akademi Fantasia 8 champion stated that his decision is a planned effort to make space for younger, emerging talents rather than a reaction to declining popularity. He noted that shifts in industry demand and the influx of new faces are natural processes.

In a separate discussion regarding the music industry, singer Shila Amzah emphasized the necessity of mental and physical resilience for artists participating in music competitions. She highlighted the pressures of tight schedules and the need for stamina to master lyrics, music arrangements, and choreography under stress. Amzah also reflected on the evolution of the industry, noting the transition from the manual processes of her early career to the technological ease of the modern era.
