Malaysian students compete in AI Muda@NADI Hackathon 2026

More than 9,000 secondary school students across Malaysia participated in the AI Muda@NADI Hackathon 2026, an initiative focused on developing artificial intelligence solutions for the nation’s plantations and commodities sector.

The national finals featured 26 teams of students from Form 1 to Form 6. The winning team, INNOVIQ from Kolej Vokasional Perdagangan Johor Bahru, developed ‘TerraScan,’ an AI-powered smart agriculture application. The tool integrates soil analysis, crop recommendations, weather forecasting, farm simulation, and financial management to improve yields and reduce operational costs.

The hackathon was the culmination of the AI@NADI Training Programme 2026, implemented by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and CelcomDigi through National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI). The program involved partnerships with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Google for Education, the Ministry of Education, and Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM).
