Kuala Lumpur City is attempting a comeback following early season struggles and player shortages. Defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco noted that the lifting of a FIFA player registration ban has allowed new players, including Syafiq Ahmad and Gary Steven Robbat, to join training. The team aims to stabilize its performance after a heavy 0-6 loss to Kuching City.

Kelantan Red Warrior FC is dealing with an influenza outbreak, with three players testing positive and eight others showing symptoms. The squad is also restricted by a FIFA transfer ban, preventing the recruitment of new players to bolster a roster that has conceded 13 goals in two matches. Coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim stated the club is working to resolve the registration issues with FIFA.
