Malaysian universities UUM and UTHM welcome new students for 2026/2027 session

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has welcomed 4,982 new students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The intake includes 4,413 local students via UPU, 246 from UUM's Foundation in Management, and two local inbound mobility students. The university also recorded 211 international students from countries including the United States, Canada, and France. The most popular programs by enrollment are Accounting (446), Economic Science (259), and Business Administration (251).

UUM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed noted that the intake includes nine students with disabilities and eight Orang Asli students. Additionally, 96 students from B40 families are receiving assistance through welfare fees and TH-IQRA.

Separately, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) registered 3,302 new undergraduate students for the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic session. The group consists of 1,885 male students and 1,417 female students across the Parit Raja and Pagoh campuses. UTHM Vice-Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr. Mas Fawzi Mohd Ali emphasized the importance of self-discipline, spiritual connection, and community contribution for the new cohort.
