Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim orders tighter airport security and exhaustive Tabung Haji probe

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim instructed ministries and agencies to strengthen security and enforcement at all Malaysian airports and international entry points, aiming to curb drug smuggling and other trans‑national crimes. He emphasized continuous monitoring and close inter‑agency cooperation.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku, the Agong was briefed on the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Tabung Haji and on current issues involving the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda). He ordered that investigations be pursued “to the very last detail,” with no one escaping accountability, and warned that similar problems must not recur. The Malaysian Anti‑Corruption Commission has set up a special task force, made several arrests, and Bukit Aman has opened five investigation papers into alleged commercial offences uncovered in the report.
