Malaysia's Ministry of Digital to integrate Agentic AI into MyGOV platform

Malaysia’s Ministry of Digital has announced the integration of Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) into the MyGOV platform to transform public service delivery. Unlike conventional AI that merely responds to prompts, Agentic AI is designed to understand context, plan actions, and execute tasks across various digital services with user consent.

Under this new system, citizens can interact with the government using simple language without needing to identify specific agencies. The AI assistant will identify relevant services and provide step-by-step guidance, such as managing the entire process of checking and paying police summonses.

The implementation will follow a phased rollout, beginning with a beta phase in August 2026. The Ministry emphasized that the deployment will adhere to public sector AI governance guidelines, focusing on data privacy, security, transparency, and human oversight. As of July 2026, the MyGOV platform has reached over 2.9 million users and provides 52 services from 19 different government agencies.
