Malaysia's PM Anwar urges strengthening FELDA to boost settlers' welfare

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met the newly appointed chair of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, in Putrajaya. He said FELDA must continue to be reinforced as an institution that lifts the dignity of settlers and their families, and that the welfare of every generation of settlers should be aligned with efforts to improve FELDA’s economic competitiveness and sustainability.

Anwar expressed confidence that Ahmad Badri can carry forward the agency’s recovery and strengthening agenda, and pledged full support from the MADANI Government to ensure FELDA remains relevant for future generations. Ahmad Badri took office on 15 July, succeeding Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek whose term ended on 30 June.
