Malba to host Argentine Haute Couture Week and Frida Kahlo exhibition
The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) will host the fourth edition of the Semana de la Alta Costura Argentina (SAC) and the exhibition ‘Viva Frida’ this September. The programming, directed by Elina Costantini, coincides with the museum's 25th anniversary.
Scheduled from September 14 to 21, the SAC event features designers such as Natalia Antolín, Camila Romano, Pía Carregal, and Mexican designer Carla Fernández. The event aims to promote Argentine haute couture as a cultural expression of design and textile art. A public fashion show will take place on the Malba esplanade on September 20.
Simultaneously, the ‘Viva Frida’ exhibition will debut in South America on September 20, remaining open until March 15, 2027. Curated by Dr. Circe Henestrosa, the exhibition includes over 300 original items related to Frida Kahlo, such as clothing, accessories, photographs, letters, and paintings.
