Malcolm Offord reveals prostate cancer diagnosis

Malcolm Offord, the leader of Reform UK in Scotland, has revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer on May 7, the same day as the Holyrood election. Speaking at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Offord shared that he underwent a procedure last week to remove his prostate and is now “clear” and “raring to go.”

Offord described the diagnosis as a “scary thing” but noted that having friends who have faced similar challenges helped mitigate his fear. He used the platform to urge men to undergo regular health checks, stating that prostate cancer is becoming a “more understood subject” with significant recovery potential.

Following Reform UK's performance in the May elections, where the party secured 17 seats, Offord remains ambitious for the party's future. He expressed a goal of winning a majority in the 2031 Scottish Parliament election to help make Scotland “the most successful country in the world.”
