Maldita Vecindad celebrates 40 years with major anniversary concerts

Mexican rock group Maldita Vecindad is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a series of major performances as part of the “40 Años de Paz y Baile” tour. The band, founded in 1985 and led by vocalist Roco Pachukote, will perform at Arena CDMX on October 30 and Arena Guadalajara on November 6.

The anniversary shows are designed as large-scale productions that honor the band's musical legacy and cultural identity. The repertoire is expected to include iconic tracks such as “Pachuco,” “Kumbala,” “Solín,” and “Don Palabras.”

During a press conference, Roco Pachukote noted that the celebrations align with the tradition of Día de Muertos, expressing a desire to connect the music with the memory of those who have passed. The band is recognized for its influential fusion of ska, punk, and rock with traditional Mexican rhythms like danzón and bolero.
