Maldives council and civil society hold partnership forum

A partnership forum organized by the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) together with local civil society organisations was convened in the capital. The event, spanning several days, focused on council budget allocations, development projects and community initiatives. Participants discussed flood response measures, the distribution of funds for public services, and plans for improving infrastructure across the islands. The forum also addressed administrative procedures and the role of local councils in implementing national policies.

The discussions highlighted the need for coordinated action among government bodies, NGOs and community groups to enhance service delivery and address emerging challenges facing the Maldives.
