Maldives Ports Limited and Uligan Council sign land lease for yacht marina

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and the Haa Alifu Uligan Council have signed a land lease agreement to facilitate the development of the Uligan Yacht Marina Project. The agreement, signed at MPL’s head office, grants the company approximately 70,471 square metres of land for the construction and operation of the marina and its related infrastructure.

The project aims to establish modern berthing facilities and maritime support services in the northernmost part of the Maldives. By providing state-of-the-art infrastructure, officials expect the marina to monetize existing maritime traffic, drive leisure craft arrivals, and expand regional commerce. The development is intended to boost local tourism and generate new revenue streams for the northern region.
