The Maldives is preparing to host the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean 2026 Gala Ceremony on September 27, 2026. Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has secured several key partnerships to support the event, which returns to the country after a ten-year hiatus.

Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed on as the Platinum Title Sponsor of the ceremony. The agreement was finalized by Abdulla Yasir, CEO and Managing Director of VMC, and Mohamed Shareef, CEO and Managing Director of BML. Additionally, ROGUE by Naju has joined as the official styling partner, providing wardrobe styling for the event’s ushers and MC.

The ceremony is expected to host senior executives, hospitality owners, and industry stakeholders from over 40 countries. The event aims to showcase the Maldives as a premier global tourism destination and provide visibility for local Maldivian businesses.
