Maldivian luxury resorts host international Michelin-starred chef residencies
Luxury resorts in the Maldives are expanding their international culinary programs to attract experiential travelers through high-profile chef residencies.
Alila Kothaifaru Maldives has announced a ten-day residency for Chef Joshua Acquaviva, the Head Chef of Pellico 3 at Park Hyatt Milan. Running from October 25 to November 3, 2026, the residency will take place at the resort’s Pibati Sul Mare restaurant. Acquaviva, a Naples-born chef with experience in Michelin-starred kitchens, will focus on Italian traditions such as handmade pasta and pizza, incorporating fresh island produce.
Similarly, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort is continuing its ‘Around the World Michelin Star Guest Chef Series 2026’. The program features Ukrainian chef Alena Solodovichenko in October, focusing on European techniques and her Ukrainian heritage, followed by Italian chef Cristina Bowerman in November. The initiative emphasizes sustainable gastronomy and interactive dining experiences.
