Mali and Liel Yahalomi located in Argentina after planned disappearance

Mali and Liel Yahalomi have been located on a train in Buenos Aires, Argentina, following a disappearance that involved a meticulously planned journey through Europe. Investigators revealed that Mali had spent weeks preparing the escape to avoid detection, utilizing routes through Vienna and Prague to acquire new mobile phones. The plan reportedly aimed for South American countries without extradition agreements with Israel, motivated by personal debts.

The discovery of the Yahalomi pair has prompted the family of Heymanot Kasao to demand that the investigation into Heymanot’s own disappearance, which has lasted 902 days, be transferred from the Israel Police to the Shin Bet. Benzi and Tsefia Kasao expressed frustration with the police's handling of their daughter's case, contrasting the successful location of the Yahalomi women with the lack of progress in finding Heymanot.
