Morocco and Mali sign 21 agreements, launch vocational training centre
Morocco and Mali concluded a major cooperation package during the fourth session of their Joint Cooperation Commission in Bamako. The two governments signed 21 bilateral agreements covering sectors such as energy, health, agriculture, training, trade and security. The agreements were the first set of texts approved since the commission last met in June 2000.
On 24 July 2026, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita handed over the Mohammed VI Vocational Training Complex to Malian authorities. The 5,200 m² facility will train nearly 1,000 people each year in 21 programmes, including construction, civil engineering, hospitality, tourism and food services. The centre was funded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development and was described by Mali’s employment minister as “highly significant” for addressing the country’s skills needs.
The partnership reflects a broader South‑South cooperation strategy steered by King Mohammed VI, aiming to boost economic integration and human‑capacity development across the Sahel region.
