Mali independence: RFI celebrates new musical voices

To celebrate Mali's independence, RFI correspondent Mory Touré hosted a special edition of the program ‘Fais ton boucan’ to showcase the evolving Malian musical landscape. The broadcast highlighted a new generation of artists who blend traditional heritage with modern sounds.

Featured rising talents include Djinxi B, known for modern and socially engaged melodies; Yacou B OG, representing the new wave of Malian hip-hop; and Bakarin Flow, noted for poetic lyrics and engaging production. The selection aimed to bridge the gap between established legends like Toumani Diabaté and Salif Keïta and contemporary artists such as Aya Nakamura and Kiff No Beat.
