NFL preseason: Malik Nabers and Geno Smith provide key injury updates
NFL preseason training camps continue to provide significant injury updates for several teams. New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has reached a milestone in his recovery from a torn ACL, participating in full-speed team drills and 7-on-7 reps while wearing a non-contact jersey. While head coach John Harbaugh remains cautious about his availability for Week 1, Nabers reported feeling good after the session.
In New York, Jets quarterback Geno Smith participated in practice despite an ankle injury, showing mobility and completing 14 of 18 passes. The Jets also saw the return of defensive linemen Joseph Ossai and T’Vondre Sweat, though defensive back Mory Bamba is expected to miss several weeks due to a knee injury.
Other notable updates include the Los Angeles Rams managing minor injuries to defensive end Myles Garrett and wide receiver Puka Nacua, both of whom may remain sidelined for the remainder of the week. Additionally, the New Orleans Saints are expected to be without rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson for the start of the season.
