Malik Nabers uncertain for Giants season opener against Cowboys

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers remains uncertain regarding his availability for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. After undergoing two surgeries to repair a torn right ACL and meniscus sustained last season, Nabers has been cleared for full contact in practice but has not committed to playing on September 13.

Nabers stated his focus is on the full 17-game regular season, noting he wants to ensure he is healthy enough to play all four quarters. The rookie receiver previously set franchise records with 109 receptions and 1,204 yards during his debut season.

Teammate Isaiah Likely, a tight end signed to a three-year, $40 million contract, praised Nabers as the team’s ‘alpha receiver’ and expressed a desire to draw defensive attention away from him. Additionally, running back Najee Harris appears to be in good shape following his recovery from a torn Achilles, according to coaching reports.
