Emergency incidents reported across Albania and Kosovo

Multiple emergency incidents and social issues have been reported across Albania and Kosovo.

In Albania, significant wildfires have occurred in Mallakastër, where emergency services evacuated families in the village of Koilac due to rapidly spreading flames. A separate large fire in Krujë required helicopter assistance; authorities have arrested a local resident suspected of starting the fire while burning garden waste. Additionally, police in Ksamil rescued five Swedish tourists from a pedal boat in distress, and in Velipojë, two individuals were saved from drowning by maritime police.

In Kosovo, social expert Vebi Mujku reported that domestic violence remains a critical issue, with over 1,300 cases reported in the first six months of the year. While there is a slight downward trend compared to 2025, experts warn that many cases go unreported due to economic factors and substance abuse.

In Prizren, an 18-year-old male, Egzon Kabashi, passed away following a fall from the fourth floor of a building. Authorities have launched a death investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the fatal fall.
