Mallardo clan associate arrested in Civitanova Marche fraud scheme

Giovanna D’Alterio, the 46-year-old daughter of Mallardo clan figure Vincenzo D’Alterio, and Sergio Fogliamanzillo, 29, were arrested in Civitanova Marche for aggravated fraud. Following their arrest, a judge from the Macerata Tribunal released both individuals under the condition that they report to authorities three times a week.

The fraud involved a scheme where a man impersonated a member of the Carabinieri. He called a couple's home and convinced the husband of a 61-year-old woman to leave the house immediately to visit the local Carabinieri station. This was intended to leave the woman alone in the residence. Once the husband departed, an accomplice arrived at the door, gained entry, and stole money and other belongings.

Carabinieri officers intervened after becoming suspicious of the situation. They successfully intercepted the vehicle used by the suspects and recovered the stolen items.
