Manmohan Singh: Leaders pay tribute on birth anniversary

Indian political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi, paid tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on his 94th birth anniversary.

Leaders across the political spectrum recalled Singh’s significant contributions to India’s economic landscape, particularly his role as Finance Minister in initiating structural economic reforms in 1991. His tenure as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014 was noted for implementing landmark legislation such as the Right to Information Act, the Right to Education Act, and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

To mark the occasion, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya inaugurated a curated exhibition titled ‘Dr Manmohan Singh: From Scholarship to Public Service’. The exhibition, which runs until September 30, traces his journey from an academic economist to a statesman, highlighting his impact on India’s economic policies and international engagement.
