Mallikarjun Kharge launches Uttarakhand election campaign
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge launched the party's election campaign in Uttarakhand at a gathering in Haldwani. During his speech, Kharge challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to a parliamentary debate regarding student agitation and the NEET question paper leak.
Kharge criticized the central government for its handling of student protests at Jantar Mantar and accused the administration of suppressing young people protesting recruitment irregularities. He also addressed unemployment, questioning the BJP's 2014 pledge to create two crore jobs annually and noting that approximately 30 lakh government positions remain vacant across the country.
Additionally, the Congress leader alleged that the BJP uses a "washing machine" approach to corruption, claiming that leaders facing graft allegations are absolved of charges once they join the ruling party. He emphasized the Congress party's commitment to protecting the Constitution and promised merit-based recruitment if returned to power.
