Kharge urges PM Modi to hold all-party meeting on delimitation
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand an all-party meeting regarding the government’s proposed delimitation framework. Kharge emphasized that political parties and state governments should be given sufficient time to examine the proposals to ensure a consensus-based approach.
In his communication, Kharge proposed that the current strength of 543 Lok Sabha seats should remain unchanged for the next 25 years. Additionally, he called for the implementation of a one-third reservation for women to be integrated into the 2029 Lok Sabha elections without altering the total number of seats.
