Mallorca hotel incident: Two German sisters hospitalized

Two German sisters, aged 34 and 42, were found unconscious in their hotel room in El Arenal, Mallorca. Investigators suspect carbon monoxide poisoning may have caused the incident. Both women were hospitalized with serious injuries, with one being transferred to a different clinic for specialized oxygen therapy.

A 39-year-old hotel employee was also evacuated, suffering only minor injuries. The National Police are investigating the cause, which is believed to be a leak in the hotel's kitchen area caused by a fault in the exhaust system.

Reports indicate the hotel may have been aware of issues regarding the room, as previous occupants had requested a room change after complaining of sore throats. The incident was reported shortly before midnight after relatives were unable to contact the women for several hours.
