Mallorca: Man arrested after violent festival altercation

A 45-year-old Cuban man has been arrested by the Guardia Civil following a violent confrontation during the Son Ferrer festival in Calvià, Mallorca. The incident began around 4 a.m. on Saturday when a group of young people allegedly confronted the man for harassing a group of girls at a bar.

The situation escalated into a brawl involving local police. Following the initial clash, the man reportedly returned to his residence, where he was allegedly assaulted by several of the young individuals, resulting in fractured ribs. In response, the man retrieved a large stick and returned outside, striking a 22-year-old man on the head. The victim was subsequently hospitalized for medical treatment.

Guardia Civil officers arrived at the scene, questioned witnesses, and took the man into custody on suspicion of causing bodily harm.
