Mallorca sees surge in active tourism and Christian outreach events

Tourists on Mallorca are increasingly opting for active holidays. Visitors can climb the island’s dramatic limestone cliffs, including deep‑water soloing at spots such as Cala Varques, and explore an extensive network of cycling routes suited to all levels. Local rental stations provide equipment, while guides stress the importance of checking weather, sea conditions and route signage for safety.

At the same time, the evangelical group Reach Mallorca has deployed more than 200 volunteers from Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Austria and the United States. The teams hold 14 short beach services at Playa de Palma, conduct occasional baptisms in the Mediterranean, and act as “Street Angels” in Magaluf, offering water, assistance and safe escort for intoxicated tourists. Organisers say the outreach reaches 150‑200 people per service and aims to protect visitors from potential robbery or harassment.
