Malmö opens new social grocery store at Värnhem

A new social grocery store, Matmission, has opened in the Värnhem area of Malmö. This establishment is the fourth social food store launched by Skåne Stadsmission and was developed with support from the retailer Willys.

Located at Östra Förstadsgatan 34, the store is designed to serve individuals facing socioeconomic vulnerability. Members can purchase food and other daily necessities at reduced prices. The initiative aims to provide dignity and empowerment to those facing financial hardship while simultaneously reducing food waste by utilizing products donated by the grocery and food industries that would otherwise go to waste.
